It’s Time to Stop Being Socially Distant

It’s Time to Stop Being Socially Distant

There really never was or is a time to be socially distant.

As Michael Osterholm, the Director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at U of Minnesota, shares, “We need to stop using the term social distancing.  It’s physical distancing.  We shouldn’t socially distance, if ever there is a time that we need each other, it’s now.  If ever there is a time to be social, to reach out, it’s now.“

As each day goes by, there are some who are able to go back to their normal lives, some who are able to go back to abbreviated lives, and some who have had their lives completely flipped upside down.

It’s that third category, that group that must remain physically distant than may need your social closeness more than ever.

Maybe it’s a text or a phone call or a letter in the mail to let someone know, ‘I’m still thinking about you.’  ‘I’m still here if you need anything.’  ‘Even if we can’t be close physically, you’re always in my heart.’

They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder.

So everyone should be pretty fond of one another by now.

Take some time today and let someone know you care.
