Judas is just like every other one
The disciples looked around at one another, “Is it me?” “Who is it Lord?” “Who is going to betray you?”
Maybe it turns out Judas wasn’t so bad after all?
Maybe he was just like the rest of them.
The rest of us.
And that’s not to mitigate his act of betraying the Chosen One.
But as the disciples looked around at one another and asked, “Is it I?,” they knew they weren’t so much different from Judas either. As Tim Keller shares, “Judas was just one of the guys, an ordinary guy. He is just like every other one.”
So where is this little blog about betrayal headed…
Ordinary people are powerful.
Ordinary people can change the world.
In fact, ordinary people are the only ones who do.
We are all ordinary. We are all capable.
Each of us is capable of excessive destruction, each of us is capable of unlimited greatness.
The same disciples who looked around and said, “Is it I” also went on to change the world for the rest of time with a message of Redeeming Hope and Love.
