what’s worth holding on to?

what’s worth holding on to?

Towards the end of the Book of John, it states, “When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they divided his clothes among the four of them. They also took his robe, but it was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.”

I think the older you get, you can go two ways with your possessions.  You hoard them or give them away.  There’s not a lot of middle ground.  You’re always doing one thing or the other.

I don’t think I ever knew how much I was actually hoarding because I do give a lot of things away.  But I have a tendency to accumulate even more.

And with enough listening to the Minimalists podcast along with reading some Marie Kondo (heck yeah), I actually started making some changes.  And started realizing how many things were sitting around my house and room, unused, likely to never or rarely be used again.

And so I started throwing things in a bag and heading to donation centers.

I feel like I need more ‘space’ in my life more than I need more things.

After all, when Jesus came to the end of His life, He had one possession, a robe, and even that was taken away.
