what if you're not thankful

What if you’re not thankful.

What if you don’t want to be here. 

What if you haven’t been given your due.

What if your loved ones have passed.

What if life is passing you by and it’s not what you thought it’d be.  

What if you’re depressed.

What if life has been unjust to you.

What if others have been unjust to you.

What if you’re not thankful.

What then.

While some celebrate a holiday of thanksgiving.

Others lament the beginning of that same holiday.

While some sit around a table sharing thanks.

Others sit alone.

While some sing songs of joy.

Others have no words to share.

It’s a complex holiday. 

It’s a complex world.

As always, enjoy your time and the space you’re in, I know I will certainly cherish the time I have with my family. But also be mindful of another.
