gospel of humility

Sometimes, we think we have to have it all figured out to pray.

We admire the one with eloquent prayers. 

We look down on the one who questions God and questions prayer at all. 

And yet, it’s the humble, those who don’t have it figured out, those who are broken who carry the ear of God.

As it says in the Book of Luke, "The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like the others—swindlers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. But the tax collector stood at a distance. He beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner!’…"

Wherever you’re at, preferably, broken and humbled.  In search of answers.  In search of God Himself.  In search of hope...  

Because it’s in that search that you’ll often find what you need.  For vanity cannot find anything because it already has it.  And humility has no option but to find.
