the complexity and simplicity of love

I started to write a blog about love.

And then I stopped.

I started to write a poem about love.

But I only made it one line in.  

I could tell you what the Bible says about love, but that’s too easy.

I could tell you I’ve been in love and that would be halfway true.

I could tell you I’ve fallen out of love and I guess that would be the other half.

I could tell you how much I love others and you could tell me how selfish I really am.

Love, it’s maybe the most simple and complex word in our language.

And today, is the holiday we celebrate it in just as many simple and complex ways.
