the vacuum

most of us don’t like vacuums

and I’m not speaking of the ones that clean things up

but most of us don’t really like those either

I speak of the silence, the existential void

it’s a hard place to sit in, to be still in, to not check our phone in

but it’s the vacuum that creates the next things

that allows our minds to think anew

that creates the tension to not click, click, click

but to create, create, create
