Good Friday
I read recently from KJ Ramsey,
The depth
of your grief
is a witness
to the expanse
of your love.
Sadness
is the soul’s measure
of what mattered.
It’s Good Friday because it’s good. But it’s also Good Friday because it’s sad. Contradictory of course, so it seems.
But sadness isn’t a negative but simply a reflection of the things that mattered most. Yes, sadness hurts. Loss hurts. And it’s important to grieve the things we have lost. But within that, compassion grows, empathy grows, love grows.
And that which was sad becomes good.
And that which was lost can be transformed into hope.
