not what but in
“It is not what happens to us that matters as much as what happens in us.” - Jerry Sittser
When I speak to students, a refrain that has become common for me is, chase the dream, but it’s okay if you don’t reach it because it’s not so much about achieving the dream but who you become along the way.
Whether it’s dreams or loss. Achievements or heartaches. Victories or death.
They’re all inevitable.
We all carry with us both wins and losses in life.
The point isn’t to hone in on the win or loss itself, but on who you became along the way.
