I used to save the world

I found this quote on my phone and it’s not attributed to anyone so I’m guessing it’s mine, haha, “2 weeks isn’t enough time to save the world but it is enough time to make a friend.”

My life has most always been lived on mission. And I don’t mean that in an uber-spiritual way like I’m trying to convert you, but I am trying to be kind and to love you.  

Almost 10 straight summers, I spent traveling the globe and serving with orphans and children at risk.  I loved it and my heart is still there.  The last 2 summers, I’ve spent, more or less, solo traveling. 

The thing is, I’m not sure if one is that much more impactful than the other.  

I want to live a life of purpose.  And if the purpose is serving another or simply loving another, I think it falls under the same umbrella.  

Maybe you’re saving the world or maybe you’re just making a friend.  

But maybe making friends is the reason you’re here.
