The Magic is in the Detours

I’ve always been a doer. 

Do, do, do.

Go, go, go.

But lately, I feel like I’m slowing down. 

In a good way. 

I slowed down the learning and growing parts. And I started spending more time with savoring and enjoying. 

Rather than read the next book, I re-read the last book I loved.  I turned my podcasts down from 2x back to 1x. 

Maybe it’s because I’ve gotten older. Or maybe it’s because I’ve gotten wiser.

But I’ve learned that slow and savory often takes one further than speed.

If you’re on a journey, it’s not speed that gets you what you want, it’s taking the time to get there.

The magic is in the detours.
