The Journey
It was the day before Thanksgiving.
I wanted to go to that favorite spot I like to contemplate and dream.
But it was the day before Thanksgiving.
Which means, traffic.
A 1+ hour trip turned into 2 hours.
I thought, “Maybe, I should go back home and do this another day.”
And then I thought, “It’s not the destination I’m after, it’s the journey.”
It’s the ride. It’s the drive. It’s the contemplation. It’s the silence. It’s the stillness.
The destination is what it is.
It’ll always be there.
But the journey to get there, that’s what matters.
