praying for enemies, how do I get there

praying for enemies, how do I get there

People often aspire to positions of power.  Aspire to that which will lead to money or fame.

But often you find those in power criticizing or putting down others.

Someone who is comfortable in their own skin, who is confident in themselves has no need to put down another. In fact, if they find someone who is down, they are likely to offer encouragement.

The Bible speaks of praying for your enemies, and I think verses like that can be confusing.  What’s the purpose of doing something such as that? Wouldn’t you rather see justice and retribution?  Yet, once again, if you are comfortable with who you are, confident that you are loved without condition, then you can offer those same hopes for another.

“Individuals who are realized in their own lives almost never criticize others.  If they speak at all, it is to offer encouragement.” – Steven Pressfield
