gospel of a treasure hunt
“In each person there is a priceless treasure that is in no other.” – Martin Buber
Have you ever watched a movie where someone, some empire, some group is searching for treasure? They’ll go at unlimited lengths to find it, to unearth it.
They’ll sail across the oceans. They’ll dive into the deep. They’ll dig into the earth. They’ll fight. They’ll kill. Nothing will stop them from finding their treasure.
People will do anything to find gold and riches and fame.
But if you want to find real treasure, knock on the door next to you. Say hello to someone new at the coffee shop. Invite someone over for dinner. Treasure is closer than you realize.
It may be easier to sail across an ocean than to walk across the street. But when you knock and invite, it’s likely you may discover the treasure of another person and unearth an untold story.
