it's not goodbye
As this publishes, I’m flying back to the United States.
When I first started traveling overseas, it was hard to come back. It was hard to say goodbye. It was hard to adjust to the comforts we are afforded in the US.
As time has gone by, I have grown to appreciate those comforts. I appreciate the structure of America. I appreciate having needs met and not having to worry daily about living essentials. I appreciate having water and electricity. I appreciate being able to curl up in a blanket with some soup and juice when I get a fever.
But ultimately, the thing that has made saying goodbye easier is that I don’t say it anymore.
I’ll see you soon Zimbabwe.
