Christmas, a season of hope and loss
Christmas is a season of hope.
And yet it’s a season that can bring the most pain.
For some it’s loved ones and presents.
For others it’s the loss of loved ones and little to spare.
Yet this doesn’t mean Christmas can only be one or the other.
Christmas is a season where a baby was born with loving parents and gifts were brought from thousands of miles away.
And Christmas is a season of humble beginnings in a manger with a life that was born to die a lonely, painful death.
So whether its love or its loss, there is hope in the fact that a child came into the world through humble yet loving beginnings... the Prince of Peace, the Wonderful Counselor, Immanuel, God with us.
