sacredness of life

We mourn for Sutherland Springs.

We mourn for Las Vegas.

We mourn for Charlottesville.

It has been said that ‘the killing of one is the killing of all.’ ‘It’s the sacredness and connectedness of all humanity.’  

It is natural and healthy for us to mourn those we love, those we know, those we associate with.  But what can truly bring healing to our nation and to our world is when we all learn to mourn for those different from us, when we learn to mourn for those from a different tribe, religion, and culture. 

When we learn to mourn for one another, we also learn to value the sacredness of one another and the sacredness of all life.
