making margin

I haven’t done a lot of writing lately

And I love writing

Someone asked me if I was still doing spoken word

I paused, nah, it’s been awhile

Another asked if I still wrote poetry

Yeah, but’s it’s been awhile

It’s hard to keep the things we love when life gives little margin

But I think the answer is to not overcomplicate it

The answer is, sometimes we do, sometimes we don’t

Sometimes we can make margin and sometimes we’re out

Life is less of a checklist and more of a moving forward in the best we have to offer
