letting yourself and others down

letting yourself and others down

There are a lot of things in life that can take us down.

And the challenge is, we all have character flaws, the exact things that lead to us being taken down.

So inevitably, we will each make grave mistakes.  We will hurt people.  We will let others down.  We will let ourselves down.

But that doesn’t leave us without hope.  As Timothy Keller shares in his book Prayer, ‘The only character flaws that can really destroy you are the ones you won’t admit.’

As I shared, we have hope.  But we need each other.  Having others carry our burdens with us makes life a little more doable.

I have my flaws, flaws that would cause many of you to stop reading now.  But I also have friends who step up and carry those with me.

When you make a mistake and when you let someone down, don’t stop there.  There’s a friend out there ready to carry that hurt with you.  And that’s when life goes from letting you down, to doable, to becoming an overcomer.
