Give Me the Brown Grass

Give Me the Brown Grass

They say the grass isn’t always greener on the other side

It’s kind of true

But just kind of

Sure the grass might not be greener

But it might not be green where you are

Sure the grass on the other side might be brown

But that doesn’t mean it can’t change

Grass is green

Because

Of what you sow in it

Because

Of how you water it

Because

Of the sunlight you let in

So honestly

Don’t worry about what the color the grass is

Don’t worry if it’s brown

Don’t gloat if it’s green

Simply

Sow your seed wisely

Water faithfully

And surround yourself with rays of sun

And surely you will find green grass wherever you go

Maybe brown grass doesn’t mean death

Maybe it means its awaiting renewal and new birth

Maybe the grass isn’t greener on the other side

But maybe the green grass wasn’t even made for you

Maybe you’re meant to make the brown grass green
