to resolute or not to resolute - Happy New Year's!

to resolute or not to resolute - Happy New Year's!

I started to write about resolutions.

And I started to write about not making resolutions.

And I started to write about the complexity of either / or / none.

And then I deleted it all.

And decided to write something else.

But then I started writing about resolutions again.

And I’m still writing.

And even though this post seemed as if it’s headed nowhere, all I keep thinking about is what I read in Seth Godin’s Linchpin this week which was, “Shipping isn’t focused on producing a masterpiece but all masterpieces get shipped.  I produced more than 100 books, most didn’t sell well but if I hadn’t, I’d never had the chance to do this one.  Picasso painted more than a thousand paintings and you can probably name 3 of them.  Shipping is part of the art.”

So maybe the resolution is simply to keep writing each week and keep shipping.

Because maybe the art doesn’t look or sound like you want it to, but the shipping is right on time.
